You can tell your mom you made it in the working world when your company has made the list for ‘Best Places to Work.’ That is exactly how we feel at Rent Jungle today; proud, honored and beyond excited to be one of the 100 commendable companies who made Pittsburgh Business Times “Best Places to Work” list in 2015.
We came. We saw. We conquered.
Cliché, but oh so true. Rent Jungle was ignited in 2010 because of a unique and opportunistic gap in the market. There was no one-stop shop online to find rental housing listings. And if you’ve ever been on the apartment hunt before, you’ll know the agony we’re talking about. But that personal agony we each have gone through when looking for a place to call home, led us to the business idea of the century called Rent Jungle. Since 2010 we have helped pave the way for apartment hunters and managers to navigate through the online jungle of rental housing.
We continue to conquer the market through hard work, but we also leave some time to monkey around and that is our “not so secret recipe” which allowed us to coin a spot in Pittsburgh Business Times Best Places to Work in 2015.
Pizza Tuesdays and beer Fridays tend to be a regular weekly ritual. Actually, free lunches Monday through Wednesday are a typical trend. But the food perks is not the only reason Rent Jungle remains high on the list. Grant, one of the fifteen dedicated employees, summed up the atmosphere so uniquely by saying, “There is no such thing as an office environment here. We all treat the space like our home.” And that is what’s so telling here. Work and home can be a combined space. Use a bouncy ball instead of a chair, start your day at 6am or 10am, and enjoy a cold one during the last Friday meeting of the day. The choice is ultimately yours.
From 5 employees to 15, we’ve come a long way. We’re a small team with an array of personalities, but we all have one thing in common - a sense of accomplishment and trust that comes with the work and territory of working for a start up company like Rent Jungle.
